Dazzling blue diamonds

Amongst the most rare diamonds are the blue ones!
Early next month, Sotheby’s is organising an auction of Magnificent Jewels in New York
which features an exquisite 5.69 carats Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond ring.

The amazing Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond beauty is expected to be sold for up to USD 15 million.

The auction also includes an extremely rare diamond ring of 110.92 carats which
makes it the largest round diamond to be offered at auction.

Interesting fact – Despite the white diamond’s significant
difference in size compared to the Fancy Vivid Blue Diamond ring, the white diamond is expected to be
sold for up to USD 6.2 million – less than half the price of the Blue Diamond.
It seems that size doesn’t always matter…when it comes to diamonds.
Rarity and uniqueness though definitely counts!

game of Stones!

We did indeed expect that by the last season of Game of Thrones,
the so far finale would steal our heart.
What we did not see coming was that not one but two of the still-standing heros that made it alive till the very end,
plus a third that remained unforgettable
… would tie the knot shortly after the end!

The one and only Jon Snow, Kind of the North, actor Kit Harrington,
is finally enagaged to his actual Game Of Thrones ‘first love’, Ygritte, Rose Leslie!
The ring, yet to be photographed closer, looks like a splendid Emerald cut magic stone. Classic.

Sansa Stark, the brave princess turned queen turned ruler of the North next to her brother Jon Snow.
Sophie Turner’s icey beauty was enough
to make pop star and Game of Thrones huge fan, Joe Jonas fall in love.

The two announced their engagement earlier this week posting the sweetest photo on their instagram

A diamond on the island

A seven meter diamond in Japan.

Sou Fujimoto’s Polyhedral Pavilion Shapes The Art Island of Japan.
Located near Naoshima, the Japanese island better known as the “Art Island”, Sou Fujimoto’s Pavilion appears as a translucent and lightweight diamond
perched on the coastal edge of Kagawa.

The structure has an interior height of 7 meters encouraging visitors to enter and experience this reticulated and delicate space that at the same time generates shadows and allows wind breezes to trespass it. Its irregular shape and the different slopes generated in its interior gives flexibility to the structure either in contemplative terms or as a resting place from the intense sun.

The Naoshima Pavilion was part of the 2016 Setouchi Triennial. Fujimoto has created its structure with a white painted stainless steel framework, acting as a mesh that gives the polyhedron it’s irregular shape and light appearance as if it was levitating from the ground.

The pavilion is one of several architectural and artistic landmarks of the island of Naoshima which also features works by SANAA, Tadao Ando, Yayoi Kusama and James Turrell among others.
