A beach surrounded by ice stones shaped like diamonds, shining on the shore.

 Inspiration comes from around the world!
And it reminds us of this 1109 uncut diamond sold at Sotheby’s back in 2016.

The loveliest jewelry collection of the Russian court in Amsterdam’s
amazing Hermitage Museum is soon coming to an end and we just felt inspired..

Russian court culture knew no counterpart anywhere in the world. A french ambassador once wrote: ‘Thanks to the brilliance of the uniforms, superb toilettes, magnificent furnishings the spectacle was such as no court in the world can rival. I shall long remember the dazzling display of jewels on the women’s shoulders. It was simply a fantastic shower of diamonds, pearls, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, topaz, a blaze of fire and flame.’

An imperial collaction of 200 years of jewels where Catherine’s The Great ceremonial bed chamber was transformed into the Diamond Room, which could ‘be seen as the richest of cabinets of precious objects’. A showroom with an explosion of jewellery and other prestigious objects. Like an amazing jewelry box laid with nearly 400 gems including rubies, sapphires and amethysts.

Yep. It is definitely a new modern trend full of confidence.
Men like jewellery, and love diamonds.  And we like that very much and design for them too!

If it isn’t Ronaldo wearing a 200k diamond ring, there goes Johnny Depp
in his round cut ring. Both classic pieces that inspire love of self  and a sense of achievement.Or a more eccentric styling like pop star singer Pharell Williams in a much valuable
diamond brooch and multiple layering black diamond necklaces.

This season’s Danelian collection went for a classic black diamond slick
tennis bracelet. It is the perfect match for a stylish watch and a suit or just jeans and sneakers. Either way, we love it.

MOJEH caught up with 39 year old Myrto Danelian, the Co-Owner and Creative Director, who works alongside her two sisters (Barbara and Irini) at Danelian – the Athens-based family business currently garnering global appeal.

How long does it take to order a bespoke piece?
Usually a maximum of three weeks, but it depends how complicated the design is.

How do clients usually contact you, and how does the process begin?
Most of our Middle East clients are referred through word of mouth and personal contacts. The process usually starts with a phone conversation so we can really understand their needs and personal preferences, and progresses from there.

How do you begin to understand and translate the client’s request?
First a client would share with us the occasion he or she wants to celebrate with the bespoke jewellery – it might be an engagement ring, a one of a kind wedding set, a pendant for a newborn, a birthday gift – finding a good reason to create a unique piece of jewellery is the easy part. It could just be just because you want to match it with a particular dress.Then we talk about the person that will own it, and her style, personality and taste. So if it is a surprise, we can make her as happy as possible.

The diamond brand is attracting attention around the world, including the Middle East

Can you explain the final steps — where the product is created and comes to life?
We send images of a 3D design that gives a very good idea of how the outcome will be. We discuss the final touches again, and then, voila! What is incredibly special and personal about Danelian Diamond Club is that we film the behind the scenes and the craftsmanship from the in-house workshops, and then we share it with the customers, so they can be a part of what is a beautiful and emotional process.

What kind of requests do you get from Middle Eastern customers?
We have customers that prefer timeless pieces with important stones, others that need pieces that are edgier, and those that require a more understated luxury. Our Middle East customers appreciate, and our mostly attracted to, fine diamonds which is what we specialise in.

Can you talk us through any special commissions?
Recently, we did a beautiful brooch for a member of Royal family. Unfortunately, I can’t say which. It was a crown embellished with pear shaped diamonds that you could wear with a special chain, or as a choker, too. We love doing jewellery that can be transformed, so the wearer can enjoy the piece in many different ways.

What do you love about women’s style in this region?
 love their femininity, and how they always manage to be elegant and refined. The way they combine tradition and modernity, is for me, magical. I love travelling in the Middle East for work, pleasure and both together. I’ve always been attracted to the region. The culture, language and music have a mysterious and dynamic effect on me.

Why did you choose Ana Beatriz Barros to star in your latest campaign?
Ana is a hardworking professional, a tender mother, and a caring wife who never forgets her feminine side. She embodies the Danelian woman. Together women can achieve anything, which is something we both resonate with. 

Finally, what inspires you, and the collections?
When you design jewellery you may never realise where the inspiration started from. One thing is for sure, though, the more you expose yourself to art, different cultures, nature and architecture, the more creative you become because your subconscious keeps anything that inspires it.

Just like us three Danelian sisters, Ana also has 2 sisters and they mean everything to her. She believes in women being united and strong.

Diamonds remind her of women – they are strong and they shine bright!
Her favourite piece of jewelry from the campaign was the chain necklace from the new Danelian Diamond Club Echo Collection.

The renowned and talented René Habermacher photographed Ana and Nikos Yfantis was the creative director!

The Artistic Director of Condé Nast focused on the need for a sustainable lifestyle, diversity and inclusivity and the important role the fashion industry can play in these areas.
