A diamond that was recently extracted from a mine in Russia, had a surprise lurking inside … a smaller, second diamond!
The hidden gem was freely moving inside an air pocket at the heart of the larger stone. According to experts this peculiar double gem is the only known example of a diamond with another diamond inside it.

This 10.64 carat vivid pink diamond sold for nearly 18million euros at a Sotheby’s auction in Hong Kong.
Sotheby’s stated that this gem is rare in size, quality and color – only one percent of all pink diamonds graded by the Gemological Institute of America are larger than 10 carats.
