A once in a lifetime auction of Marilyn’s personal items will take place in Los Angeles at Julien’s Auctions, this month on the 17th till the 19th.
This off course includes the iconic dress, that was sewn closed on her,
in which she sang happy birthday to JF Kennedy.

Amongs other priceless items, her custom made diamond cocktail watch will also be for sale.
According to Forbes, the watch is estimated to sell up to 100,000 dollars.

The star that sang ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’ actually owned just a few fine jewelry pieces.
The diamond watch is made of 71 round diamonds and two marquise diamonds.
It is a unique piece, pretty much like its owner…

Why D and not A

Diamond color is all about what you can’t see.
One of the 4C’s of a diamond is the less color, the higher the value. What a fashion scandal!
GIA wanted to start fresh and developed the D to Z Color Grading Scale. The letter D might not be normally associated with top quality, but for diamonds, this is quite the opposite!

One of the perks of living in Manhattan is you get to visit the Natural History Museum. The Gem and Mineral Hall displays more then 2000 different specimen of stones! It is considered one of the biggest exhibit in the world.
..And what an inspiring visit that is..
Gems, minerals even meteorits!
Some of which youare aloud to touch, others… you can imagine a timeless piece on your hand.
